Quality Technician

Job Description

As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring product quality and ensuring all products produced meet food safety and food quality policies and standards. You will also assist with the execution of other quality-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all samples are submitted to 3rd party lab as needed for both product and environmental testing.

  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure finished goods meet product specifications.

  • Respond to any out-of-specification products on the floor.

  • Monitor in-progress production and changeovers, ensuring no risk of co-mingling products.

  • Maintain the facility by auditing processes and policy execution.

  • Assist in the execution of Food Safety Audits.

  • Provide coaching on non-compliance with GMPs or PPE policy.

  • Verify correct printed material by being knowledgeable of the lot coding system and expiration dates.

  • Ensure no contamination of the product occurs by verifying the execution of quality procedures, including brine.

  • Support production employees with paperwork activities ensuring that paperwork is completed correctly and fully.

  • Support food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor temperatures of locations and raw materials.

  • Oversee document retention policy.

  • Handle restoration/environmental cleaning when needed.

  • Use ATP swabbing to verify the effectiveness of SSOP execution.

  • Complete projects or other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.

  • Working knowledge of food safety, personal hygiene, and the proper use of GMP apparel.

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in food, pharma, or chemical/consumer quality industry if no completed Bachelor's degree.

  • Ability to maintain GMPs and PPE policy while at work.

  • Basic understanding of food safety and product quality.

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.

  • Ability to understand and execute food safety policies and regulations.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to follow specific written procedures and forms.

  • Preferred experience in food production QA/QC.

  • Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
