TEKsystems Senior Software Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina
Description:
TEKsystems client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance our web platforms and services. In this role you will collaborate with both local and remote team members and other teams to design, develop, document, test, monitor, maintain, and operate a wide range of both public-facing and private software. Qualified applicants will contribute to the team's capabilities by demonstrating technical competence, exceptional communication skills,

Primary job responsibilities
● Design, develop, document, test, monitor, maintain, and operate HTTP services and middlewares for internal (private) and external (public) customers, both in the public/private clouds and in dedicated data centers
● Work closely with domain experts to analyze and implement business requirements
● Work closely with application development teams to standardize build, deployment and operational patterns, tooling, and shared libraries
● Software build and deployment automation
● Research and contribute to open source technologies

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Required skills (5-7 years experience)
● Advanced level of modern JavaScript backend competency
● Advanced level of PHP competency (preferably Symfony and/or Drupal)
● Implementing integration design patterns, especially in a microservices and/or event-driven architecture
● Ability or willingness to understand and reverse engineer applications in any programming language
● Source control (Git)
● Load balancing methodology knowledge
● Continuous integration tools and processes. Continuous delivery experience is a plus.
● Build/deployment automation tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
● MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle, and/or MongoDB
