Role Summary

As the Sr. Product Manager, Product Compliance for Splunk's Products and Technology organization, you will be working with a team of experienced product compliance professionals to embed compliance within Splunk’s products and services. Be a close ally to the Product and Engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle, enabling speed to market while ensuring secure products. Combining strong technical understanding and compliance requirement knowledge, you will help translate controls into useful development practice. Redefining how compliance should be done in an innovative and dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will be able to navigate the regulatory uncertainty and changing policy positions of global regulators and governments while partnering with the Product, Engineering, Data Protection, and Internal Audit teams, charting a path that ensures that Splunk delivers on our corporate priorities while reinforcing our culture of compliance.

What you'll get to do

As with any fast-growing company, day-to-day responsibilities will span the entire product management lifecycle and include deep interaction with customers, sales, product, legal, and audit teams.

  • Work as a critical member of the Product Compliance team to streamline compliant product delivery across the entire Splunk portfolio

  • Provide subject matter expertise to product and engineering teams to meet various compliance regulatory requirements

  • Serve as an informed advisor on a number of Commercial and Public Sector control sets, inclusive of Privacy concerns, to enable compliant product delivery

  • Participate in prioritization of compliance requirements including level of effort evaluations

  • Drive visibility, predictability, and consistency around product security and compliance initiatives

  • Collaborate with Technical Program Management and Engineering, and help drive the development of standardized processes and procedures to assure compliance requirements are accounted for

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and implement plans for attaining and maintaining prioritized regulatory and industry product certifications and affirmations of compliance

  • Understand the market and competition for use case support as a means of driving the adoption of Splunk technology

  • Support product feature planning process and go-to-market activities

Must-have Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in product compliance, preferably in a technical advisory capacity

  • Strong sense of customer compassion to care deeply about customer problems and user experience

  • Collaborative, with strong communication skills to translate sophisticated technical products and features into simple concepts and presentations.

  • Ability to make data-based and strategic business decisions driven by value, including making reasoned decisions in the face of uncertainty or imperfect data

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills characterized by visibility and conciseness with the ability to efficiently work with internal and external partners, including executive leadership

  • Validated technology security and compliance experience (5+ years), and expertise in compliance and certification requirements for frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI- DSS, HIPAA, NIST 800-53.

  • Relevant and industry-recognized professional security, compliance, and technology certifications are preferred (e.g CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC)

  • Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject area is a minimum, Master’s degree is preferred
