Robert Half Project Accountant in Raleigh, North Carolina
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the engineering industry, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our projects by analyzing costs, revenues, and financial commitments. This role will require expertise in Deltek Vision software and a deep understanding of the accounting close process.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all financial aspects of projects through ongoing job forecasting.
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs and budget.
• Record project costs and reconcile discrepancies.
• Oversee all billings, including direct costs, overhead charge, and profit.
• Monitor monthly client invoicing and revenue recognition.
• Prepare and analyze project budget and profitability reports.
• Assist in new project setup, including contract analysis and budget setup.
• Interface with project managers to provide financial insight on projects' statuses.
• Ensure project legal documents are completed and signed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as federal and state regulations. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role within the Engineering industry
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, and accounting software
• Strong understanding of the accounting close process
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on analysis
