What We Are Looking For:

Reporting to the General Manager of Programmable Messaging and Mobility, you will be responsible for early stage product innovation and incubation - building initial opportunity scope and business plans as well as engaging the market to validate Bandwidth’s ability to competitively differentiate and successfully deliver for our customers.

Lead product discovery for new business ideas and initiatives related to how Bandwidth can extend our communications service platform to deliver natively integrated mobile and rich messaging services to our Enterprise, Software Platform and Carrier customer base.

Evaluate new market opportunities and, where appropriate, drive them into the product delivery pipeline such that they are ready for development and commercial market launch.

What You'll Do:

  • You will work with the Market Offer, Product Development, Sales and Marketing teams to create business cases in order to prioritize solutions addressing key customer problems and market opportunities.

  • Solution Definition - Work with product, business development and customers to elicit, analyze, and define customer challenges, market opportunities and solution requirements.

  • Business Planning - Perform an objective analysis of potential business opportunities to assess Bandwidth’s competitive positioning and ability to capture market share in order to provide a basis for investment decisions as well as quantify key risks or threats to be considered.

  • Market Validation - Develop ideas into concepts that can be reviewed and validated with potential customers and other key internal stakeholders. This may include prototypes to demonstrate capabilities, as well as concept-level strategy and technology descriptions.

  • Roadmap Prioritization - Work with General Manager, Market Offer and Product Development Leaders in the prioritization and estimation process for product roadmap delivery priorities.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (in an engineering or computer science discipline strongly preferred)

  • 10+ years of experience working in product management or solution architecture definition or similar roles within communications software businesses focused on developing, implementing and launching new products and services.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to be personable yet persistent and clearly communicate and engage externally with customers and internally with product/engineering teams, operations, and sales.

  • Ability to define early stage business ideas and initiatives to set direction and provide guidance to the broader business.

  • Deep understanding of mobile networking and communications

  • Good understanding of the impacts of emerging communications technology trends

  • Highly analytical skills with the ability to translate between strategic business decisions and their quantitative implications and communicate those to others, including executives

  • A demonstrated track record of successfully launching new products

Bonus Points:

  • Deep understanding of the global telecommunications and CPaaS ecosystems

  • Forecast and price modeling experience

  • Business development or pre-sales customer acquisition experience
