Army National Guard Units JOINT OPERATIONS CENTER TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32) in Raleigh, North Carolina

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a JOINT OPERATIONS CENTER TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1245000 and is part of the NC J3, National Guard (J3-JOC/ MD 1422-810/813). Responsibilities As a JOINT OPERATIONS CENTER TECHNICIAN, GS-0303-07, you will assist in the management and daily operations of the Joint Operations Center; take calls from Federal, state and the public on exchange of information and records all pertinent data; examine, analyze and interpret data from a variety of resources, i.e., interrelated electronic monitoring instruments, visual displays, area maps, news reports, and electronic mail to detect conditions of the area, either normal or abnormal; participate with the JOC Manager in briefing key staff members on significant emergency situations and providing situational assessments requiring response and recommendations for appropriate action; serve as a member of the JOC emergency response team to provide support to either the Federal, state or public operations; control COMSEC information, material, and devices and be responsible for receipt, inventory, storage, issue, protection and destruction; perform a wide variety of administrative services. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted (E3 to E7) Minimum Requirements: Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws. Experience that provided a working knowledge of administrative functions. Experience demonstrating the ability to advise lower graded employees. Experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control. Substitution of Education for specialized experience: Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions. Education You must provide transcripts to support your educational claims. To receive credit for education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the education requirements for this position.
