Actalent CMT / Inspector / Field Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

We are currently seeking experienced and entry-level CMT professionals, Special Inspectors, and Geotechnical Inspectors for various projects throughout the Raleigh-Durham marketplace. We have immediate needs for Tech II and Tech III positions and offer opportunities for entry-level individuals who are interested in joining the profession.
Responsibilities
Testing, analysis, and quality control of materials
Soils: Perform grain size analysis testing, Atterberg Limit testing, moisture-density testing, ASTM and NCDOT hydrometers, and laboratory resistivity testing
Aggregates: Perform aggregate grain size analysis, specific gravity of fine and coarse aggregates, and dry rodded unit weight
Portland Cement Concrete: Perform compressive and flexural strength testing of concrete cylinders, beams, and cubes; produce laboratory trial batches; sample and test fresh unit weight, air content, and make samples; observe batch plant operations
Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA): Perform burn and gradation analysis, max. theoretical testing (Rice), and specific gravity testing
Masonry: Perform absorption and compressive strength testing on masonry blocks
Essential Skills
2-3+ years of experience preferred
Experience in materials inspections, ACI, and construction materials testing
Skills in soils and concrete testing, masonry testing
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Preferred certifications: ACI, ICC, I.C.C., Nicet
No certifications required, but ACI is preferred
Work Environment
The position involves working both in the field and in the laboratory. The role requires a combination of fieldwork and laboratory testing, with a focus on quality control and materials analysis.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
