Intermountain Health Accountant Sr in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Description:

This position safeguards Intermountain Healthcare's assets through monthly accounting operations and internal controls, and ensures accurate and compliant financial reporting.

  • Analyzes financial data, making recommendations as appropriate to improve accuracy, efficiency, and to reduce costs.

  • Generate and present regular and ad hoc reports for department and system leadership.

  • Analyze accounts booked and journal entries for complex accounting issues.

  • Inspects the budget and general ledger for assigned departments and accounts, ensuring that funds are available, and expenditures are assigned correctly.

  • Review and preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal, state, and internal auditors and similar personnel.

  • As appropriate, identifies and recommends updates to accounting systems and procedures.

  • Develop solutions for complex accounting including joint ventures, acquisitions, starting up new facilities - created new protocol, divestitures.

  • Complete contract analysis for joint ventures, acquisitions, starting up new facilities - created new protocol, divestitures. Provide analysis for physician compensation contracts.

  • Responsible for managing scope and completion of work, meeting deadlines, and providing deliverables to the customers or end users. Manages projects, schedules and facilitates meetings as necessary to complete assignments. Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures and quality standards.

  • Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required

  • Three (3) years of experience is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree is preferred

  • CPA Certified Public Accountant is preferred

  • Healthcare experience is preferred

  • Experience with fixed assets

  • Understanding of GAAP and capital processes for capital and depreciation related expenses.

  • Proficient with Accounting software programs.

  • Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines.

  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to L accomplish objectives.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and care sites.

  • Ability to conceptualize and solve for complex accounting and operational issues.

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.

  • Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

  • See and read computer monitors and documents.

  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

  • May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
