Description:
This datacenter supports over 150K users in the US Army and hosts over 80 applications for the departments of the US Army.
The customer is a US Army Managed Service Provider, supporting Army IT applications across varying hosting scenarios.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES - This position is for an Entry Level Data Center Infrastructure Support Technician supporting the customer. The customer is a managed service provider for Army and DoD IT systems and runs multiple Army private clouds and Microsoft Azure Gov and DoD region public clouds. This position will be the Data Center Infrastructure Support Technician for all IT environments and facilities infrastructure.
JOB DUTIES –
• Layout and install conduit, wiring, network cabling, and fiber to IT equipment and workstations.
• Build and install custom network cables by making connector termination, and testing cables.
• Assist with install of IT equipment into racks and make point to point connections of the appropriate network cabling or fiber.
• Use ServiceNow application to manage incident tickets, change tickets, and manage workflow of projects. Follow procedures and be able to work off diagrams and schematics.
• Oversee preventative maintenance and equipment installation technicians to ensure that work is being performed to government standards and meets all code and scope of work (SOW) requirements of the project.
• Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure equipment failures.
• Maintain required maintenance contracts and purchase order documentation and diagrams as needed for facilities operations.
• Identify equipment/system deficiencies and recommend possible solutions to maintain proper operation of data center and infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to forecast, design, and implement needed upgrades and repairs of all facilities infrastructure related equipment.
• Maintain, operate, and repair building automation systems (BAS) and data center monitoring system as part of a larger SCADA environment.
• Provide 24/7/365 on call support for emergency failures of all facilities infrastructure supporting equipment and systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
