Job Description

IFF has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor at the Pryor, OK Proteins Solutions plant.

This well-established and growing facility is a key strategic asset to the IFF Protein Solutions business.

The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership in the execution of maintenance systems and ensures those systems are aligned with the goals of the Production organization.

This role integrates safety and business expectations to establish a strong safety and productive culture while ensuring maintenance resource effectiveness. Responsible for the quality and safe execution of daily maintenance activities performed by IFF mechanics and provides leadership for all maintenance work within the site. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the performance management, utilization of maintenance management systems and ensures the training and development of the maintenance organization. Ensures maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards to meet business requirements and enhance plant reliability.

Requirements

  • Owns, manages and drives the safe and timely execution of the daily maintenance schedule, and maintenance overtime to support business needs.

  • Develops work processes for maintenance, sets expectations around executions details, such as procedure use, tools, and methods utilized, and works to continuously improve these systems to ensures safe and quality job execution.

  • Coordinates time-on-tools studies to identify opportunities to increase maintenance efficiency and eliminate waste and reduce incidentals while maintaining safety and quality output.

  • Accountable for all required documentation and electronic records resulting from execution of maintenance activities (i.e. Shop Papers. Inspection Plans, etc.) for resources executing maintenance activities under their direction.

  • Drives performance management of resources that impact maintenance work and maintenance documentation as appropriate. Ensures proper training, development, and fitness for service for all direct reports.

  • Ensures accurate capacity and time accounting for maintenance resources. Manage HR systems for direct reports. Manage time off requests for the team. (Vacation / Sick Leave / etc.)

  • Conducts Root Cause Analysis for maintenance execution defects related to safety, precision maintenance, rework / infant mortality, work process gaps, etc. and implements corrective actions to eliminate these defects. Also serve as subject matter expert where applicable based on background and experience.

  • Partners closely with other departments including production, quality, EH&S, capital projects, engineering, and accounting to meet overall site needs from the maintenance organization.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Understand, apply and reinforce site safety policies, procedures, and training as required. Leadership ability to achieve the desired results.

  • Understand and implement site Maintenance Work Management Process (WMP) and its impact upon Asset Reliability.

  • Knowledge of the process/equipment, hazards, failure modes, and appropriate restoration techniques and methodologies. Awareness of RCFA methodology and ability to facilitate those activities.

  • Understand the complexity of various maintenance restoration techniques; identify and effectively communicate the necessary time, skills, tools, materials, activities and sequence required to execute a scope of work.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance policies and procedures.

  • Accurately execute SAP Transactions.

  • Understand Process Safety Management and Management of Change principals.

  • Good communication and presentation skills. Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Ability to develop and excel in a team environment.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Engineering degree strongly preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience in industrial plant maintenance

  • Previous Maintenance leadership or supervisory experience a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic computer skills. Microsoft Office applications

  • SAP PM experience preferred

  • Willing and able to wear appropriate PPE
