Provo City is searching for a new Center for the Arts Manager to do full-time work overseeing the Covey Center for the Arts in the Parks and Recreation department. Qualified, civic-minded individuals interested in supporting community arts programs are encouraged to apply.

The mission of the Covey Center for the Arts is to be an active hub for community arts programming, performance, and instruction. Operations and facilities include a 670 seat main hall with 90% booking rate, 80 seat Black Box theater that hosts 5 in-house productions each year, 70 seat recital stage, 3 art galleries displaying the work of local artists, dance studios hosting all-ages instruction in dance, music, and theater, stage productions, and box office operations. Application Review Process: Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on May 28, 2024. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements listed below to be eligible for consideration.

Pay Rate: $76,000 - $105,000 annually (depending on experience)

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee administrative functions and general artistic direction of the community arts program and the Center for the Arts.

  • Develop a diverse program schedule and oversee the quality of all programs and productions.

  • Develop and monitor a division budget and oversee financial activities.

  • Make staffing decisions withing the division including hiring and firing of division personnel.

  • Maintain and review all reports, work records, and documentation of subordinates.

  • Assist staff members and perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts Management, Recreation Management, Business, or closely related field.

  • Five years of experience in facility-based performing arts program management, community arts, recreation, or a related area, three years of which must have been in a supervisory and/or management capacity.

  • OR an equivalent combination of job-related education/experience.

  • A valid, lawful driver license.

  • Master's degree in Theater Management preferred.
