Business Manager, Romney Institute of Public Service and Ethics The Romney Institute of Public Service and Ethics supports the development of leaders of faith, intellect and character through teaching, scholarship, and engagement by enhancing BYU's ability and capacity to develop students who will leave the university with the tools and commitment to be moral and ethical leaders committed to serving their communities and making public organizations better. The role of Program Manager involves strategic planning, financial oversight, and human resource management for the Institute's programs, including MPA and EMPA, Ethics courses, Management Communication courses, and the Global and Community Impact Minor. What you'll do in this position: Assist the Director in strategic planning and updating the institutes priorities, as well as develop targets, roadmaps, and metrics for achieving objectives. In cooperation with the Director, administer, develop, and manage the Romney Institute's $2.5+ million budget with regular reviews. Provide financial expertise and develop financial reports for strategic planning. Manage selection, hiring, and support of adjunct faculty, student employees, and contract workers while ensuring proper contracts and payroll for all personnel. Coordinate with the BYU Salt Lake Center staff to ensure EMPA faculty are correctly hired and scheduled. Supervise a team of professionals and supporting personnel. Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures, and partner with key stakeholders to manage compliance and risk. What qualifies you for this role: Required A firm commitment to the mission of BYU Associate degree plus 2 years of work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience in management Accountability, confidentiality, flexibility, professionalism, and versatility Outstanding organizational, administrative, leadership, interpersonal and project management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Preferred Bachelor's Degree with 5 years work experience, with 2-3 in a higher education or similar environment. Team building and motivational skills across levels (student, faculty and staff)
