EPIROC USA LLC Electrical Staff Engineer in PROVIDENCE, Utah

The primary responsibilities include designing, developing, and testing electrical components, equipment, and systems for small robots and other ground-based vehicles according to customer requirements. Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical system designs. Conducts research to produce design solutions, improvements, and new products. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures to junior engineers. Reports to a manager and works with the Tech Lead. A specialist in complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.
Responsibilities:
Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
Designs, tests, and determines fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products
Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses
Ensures that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conforms to functional specifications and customer requirements
Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations
Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
Maintains regular study habits by frequently reviewing emerging technologies that improve the design, development, and testing of software programming and applications and applies technologies learned
Requirements:
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficient in EDA tools
Proficient skills in analog/digital circuit design
Lead DFMEA process
Proficient in functional safety analysis
Has good communication skills
Good team member
Has some leadership skills

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
