Mobil Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Arizona
Fann Contracting is looking for a skilled Mobil Heavy Equipment Mechanic familiar with working on both Caterpillar & John Deere equipment.
Base pay rates for this position depend upon experience but will range between $30.00 to $39.20 per hour. When on the road, wages will range from $37.00 to $47.20 per hour. When in overtime and traveling, the pay range is between $52.00 and $66.80 per hour! Federal jobs may be higher.
General position information:
The Mobile Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing Heavy Civil Construction Equipment on projects throughout Arizona. Weekly travel is required for this position. Candidates should have a clean motor vehicle record, and a valid Arizona driver’s license – preferably a Class B CDL. Do you have experience in the following?
Diesel engine & transmission repair
Welding, cutting and braising
Hydraulic systems
Electrical diagnostics
Air-conditioning
Drive train repair & lubrication
Preventive maintenance
Remote location field work
Essential Functions:
Diagnoses problems and performs mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy civil construction equipment (including, but not limited to, loaders, scrapers, backhoes, motor graders, excavators and service trucks).
Inspect and document condition of equipment for items needing repair or service.
Replaces or repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
Lubricates moving parts and operates repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
Performs tasks per preventative maintenance checklist.
Drives a company provided mechanic’s field service vehicle.
Safety conscious and responds to inquiries promptly; follows through to ensure the situation is taken care of correctly.
This position is a drug free, “safety-sensitive” role which involves some aspect of a heightened danger requiring your full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute the job.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must work safely at all times!
Must have your own tools.
Must be a self-starter who takes pride in the job they are doing.
5 years’ experience (minimum) in diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and welding heavy civil construction equipment.
Must be able to cut, weld and fabricate
Must have the ability to climb ladders and operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Working knowledge and understanding of OSHA rules and regulations
Good communication skills and the ability to work alone or in a team environment.
Must have experience reading technical manuals and understanding schematic diagrams.
High School diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements:
This position requires working outside in the elements; specifically, exposure to high temperatures, cold temperatures, chemical fumes, sparks etc. Working in areas of significantly greater exposure to moving construction equipment and active construction zones with trip and fall hazards.
