JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SPECIFICS Title: Grounds & Maintenance Tech FTE: 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week) Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm (hours/weekends may vary due to business need, such as snow removal) Holiday Rotation: None Weekend Rotation: None On Call Requirements: None POSITION SUMMARY The Grounds and Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining SPH grounds during all seasons. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the grounds and maintenance technician will perform a range of duties including lawn care, trash collection, and leaf and snow removal. This position will also perform minor maintenance tasks and assist Maintenance Mechanics with projects and work orders. POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Mow lawns, trim weeds, and rake leaves. 2. Pick up and removes trash, litter and debris from outdoor areas. 3. Empty trash and recycling containers. 4. Perform cleaning duties (sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, etc.) in assigned areas. 5. Move air filters to/from assigned areas of the building. 6. Trim bushes, shrubs, and hedges. 7. Prepare soil and plants flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs. 8. Water lawns and gardens 9. Plant trees and prune them when necessary. 10. Apply fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed. 11. Keep outdoor furniture clean and in good repair. 12. Complete snow removal tasks such as shoveling sidewalks, steps, and doorways as needed during winter months. 13. Operate snow blower or snowplow to clear roads, driveways, and parking lots. 14. Clean/maintain facility storage rooms. 15. Changes light bulbs and ballasts. 16. Preform basic preventative maintenance. 17. Moves furniture, desks, files, and tables. 18. Perform general rounds and complete basic maintenance tasks needed. 19. Stocks and organizes department supplies. 20. Deliver materials between SPH locations. 21. Assists other Maintenance Mechanics with projects and work orders.
