Microsoft Corporation Principal Engineering Manager in Prague, Czech Republic

Tech for Social Impact (TSI), was formed as the first social business within Microsoft to support the existing long-standing philanthropy commitment that Microsoft has to the nonprofit sector worldwide. TSI combines sales, philanthropy, engineering and partnerships as one integrated team, powered by a sustainable business model where profits are reinvested back into our Philanthropies initiatives.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our team focused on creating light-weight industry-specific solutions that accelerate customer time to value for Microsoft Cloud customers.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and develop talented engineers capable of developing reliable and maintainable solutions that are relevant at scale.

  • Lead, coach, and build a diverse, inclusive, high-performing team where all team members can do their best work.

  • Help the team plan and execute technical deliverables.

  • Work closely with our external partners to support the team’s mission.

  • Collaborate closely with teams within Microsoft to leverage the best technology to advance the team’s mission.

  • Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach.

  • Gain a working understanding of Microsoft as a business and collaborate with mentors and leaders to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND senior-level technical consulting or product development with experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Senior level experience in consultative, technology solutions development, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications.

  • Mid-level experience in the following areas:

  • Cloud application development solutions (e.g. PaaS, Serverless, API Management);

  • Cloud application design; (design/development/deployment, Agile, SCRUM, ALM);

  • Experience using integrated development environments (e.g. Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, XCode, WebSphere)

  • One or more of the following programming languages: C++, C#, Java, Node.js, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails, Pig/Hive;

  • Migration Techniques, Resiliency

  • PowerApps + Dynamics 365 Development

  • Functional or technical design of Business Applications implementations; Implementing cloud-based (SaaS) Business Applications solutions for either Customer Relationship or Enterprise Resource Planning areas

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Technology implementation experience within the nonprofit industry.
