DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position is responsible for managing the preparation, negotiation, acceptance, and on-going review of assigned government/commercial/international supplier terms and conditions.

  • This position is expected to keep up to date and apprised of updates to the best practices and regulatory changes, across aspects of both defense and commercial contracting, to ensure that our standard supplier terms and conditions documents adequately protect GA-ASI and our customers.

  • Typical tasks include preparing, reviewing, and approving terms, non-disclosure agreements and bailment agreements to ensure protection of the company's contractual posture, satisfaction of contract specifications and requirements, identification of risk factors, and adherence to company policy, as well as appropriate laws and regulations.

  • Typically accomplishes objectives through subordinate management and/or professional staff. May be responsible for decisions that have an extended and significant impact on outcomes across the company.

  • Essential Functions:

  • Manage the administration of assigned contract terms including negotiating, preparing, reviewing, approving, and terminating contractual documents to ensure protection of company's contractual posture.

  • Identify contractual issues, develop solutions and provide guidance to management on resolving complex issues while ensuring the contract administration process supports the objectives of the assigned program areas.

  • Ensure the company's proprietary interests are protected and that company policy is followed for processes such as, but not limited to, the review chain for reports, papers and articles.

  • Manage the review of agreements and evaluate documentation and authorization forms to identify problematic provisions and determine if the minimum requirements are met. May assist in reviewing agreements for consistency with laws, government regulations, economic conditions, and company policies.

  • Advise management of contractual rights, issues, and obligations and provide interpretation of terms and conditions.

  • Collaborate with management in the development of new business or expansion of existing business opportunities.

  • Remain current on commercial/government/international laws, regulations and practices affecting contracts and related agreements.

  • Manage the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources to ensure the availability of the required management and professional talent.

  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in business, public policy, or a related field and thirteen or more years of progressively complex experience in contracts with at least seven of those years managing contracts processes and personnel. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  • Demonstrates detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of government/commercial/international contract and subcontract administration principles, concepts, and practices as well as comprehensive contract management and leadership skills.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and FAR supplements.

  • Must possess the ability to resolve unusually complex management and technical problems while serving as spokesperson on assigned projects and/or programs.

  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.

  • Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to travel as required.
