Hudson Valley Credit Union Supervisor Lending Quality Control in Poughkeepsie, New York

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Lending Quality Control Officer. Primary Function: supervise and direct the daily operations related to quality control functions, including consumer loan quality control reviews, credit report disputes and appraisal reviews in accordance with established Credit Union policies, procedures and goals. Perform monthly quality control reviews of closed mortgages according to Secondary Market Standards. Quality control is an internal independent auditing function conducting file reviews defined herein and are not involved in the origination and/or servicing process.


Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operations of the quality control functions within the Collections Department. Interviews, hires, trains and continuously develops staff.
  • Responsible for quality control audits on closed Real Estate, Home Equity, and Consumer loans for compliance with Credit Union internal procedures, loan policies, guidelines, secondary marketing standards and government laws and regulations. Monitors and reports Red Flags and potential misrepresentation of facts to management.
  • Responsible for outsourced Business QC reviews, including selection of the vendor to perform the reviews and act as liaison between the vendor and Credit Administration.
  • Responsible for the real estate appraisal review process, with recommendations regarding specific appraisals and appraisers made to management.
  • Define and direct to management the development and implementation of risk control based on the applicable agency's regulations.
  • Compile month-end auditing deficiency reports for management. Report and recommend resolutions and curing instructions for deficiencies.
  • Responsible for ensuring HMDA data on Home Equity loans is accurately documented in the system for annual reporting. Ensure that reporting is completed timely.
  • Recommend strategic and tactical goals to increase quality and productivity and decrease deficiencies. Ensure that quality control procedures outlined by the regulatory agencies and secondary market investors are clearly executed.
  • Responsible for providing on-going training to the Lending Underwriters and processing staff.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
  • Associate's Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 Years lending, including mortgage, business and/or consumer loan underwriting, or auditing experience experience required
  • Minimum 1 Year supervisory or leadership experience experience required
  • Minimum 2 Years appraisal review experience experience required
