Advance Local Digital Strategy Manager in Portland, Oregon

Position : Digital Strategy Manager

MV Digital Group is seeking a talented and motivated Digital Strategy Manager to join our dynamic team. The Digital Strategy Manager will play a critical role in overseeing media planning, buying, and optimization efforts across various industries, ensuring successful campaign execution for our clients. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to lead a team of media professionals.

What you’ll be doing:

Media Strategy Development:

  • Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive media strategies, including client presentations tailored to client goals, target audiences, and budgets.

  • Collaborate as part of the core team to develop innovative media strategies.

  • Establish audience profiles and primary strategies to guide media planning and annual evaluations.

  • Attend client meetings to discuss media strategies, campaign performance, and future opportunities.

  • Drive innovation within the media team, encouraging the exploration of new media opportunities and technologies.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging media channels, and best practices to continually enhance media strategies.

Campaign Management:

  • Oversee the media planning, buying, and optimization processes across multiple channels, including digital, social, search, television, radio, print, and out-of-home media.

  • Guide the strategic direction, review plan documents, and provide proactive reporting/plan stewardship.

  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Serve as the primary internal team and client-facing contact for media discipline, ensuring clear and effective communication.

  • Train and mentor direct reports (media planners, assistant planners) on a daily basis, fostering their professional growth.

  • Work with MVD leadership to determine team development goals and strategies.

  • Determine planning and resource needs, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for optimal campaign performance.

  • Facilitate media relationships to advance understanding of existing and emerging markets and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in media planning and buying, including a minimum of 2 years leading a team

  • Proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing media campaigns across various channels.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with experience mentoring and developing junior team members.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in media planning and buying tools as well as analytics platforms.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of programmatic bidding, ad serving, and geofencing technologies is a plus.

  • Experience across digital media channels (display, video, search, social, native, etc.)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • This job requires reliable transportation to meet with clients and the ability to travel as needed.
