Commodity Management Specialist, Celestica LLC, Portland, OR:
Provide Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) end of life support. Act as a liaison between suppliers, engineers, and customers to source and qualify replacement parts. Locate, create, and apply information from charts, graphs, and instrument gauge. Prioritize activities to production needs, on-hand stock, and new part lead times. Facilitate continuous improvement by resolving manufacturing problems with drawings, schematics, and specifications. Manage change management issues and engineering change order planners. Utilize the Celestica Supplier Request for Action (SRA) process. Find new features by contacting manufacturers of similar type parts. Gather data from enterprise resource planning (SAP or Scavenger) and part data viewer change management databases. Audit suppliers' quality management systems. Document End of Life / Obsolete Notifications, and replacement part data. Receive and solicit supplier EOL notifications, including last time buy availability and recommended replacement part data sheets.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, and 5 years of post-baccalaureate work experience. Alternatively, the employer will accept a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, and 3 years of related work experience.
Must have 3 years of experience in the following:
Engineering experience for products manufactured in a clean room, or similar, environment;
Copy Exactly!, or similar, factory strategy model;
Manufacturing quality systems (8D Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Process);
Knowledge of supply chain principles (Cost, quality, and delivery);
SAP, Teamcenter, or Plex;
Complex Bill of Material Reading;
Production Drawing and Schematic Interpretation; and,
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
