Job Title: Tool and Die Maker
Job Description
The Tool & Die Maker position is responsible for building and repairing gauges, fixtures, tooling, and dies; assembling and testing complex tooling and dies in production departments. Utilize blueprints, sketches, models, or provided specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, and assemblies. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, utilizing measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators. Utilize machining equipment and hand tools to file, grind, adjust, fit, and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, gauges, and tooling. Conduct testing of completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications.
Responsibilities
Build and repair gauges, fixtures, tooling, and dies.
Assemble and test complex tooling and dies in production departments.
Plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, and assemblies using blueprints, sketches, models, or provided specifications.
Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
Utilize machining equipment and hand tools to file, grind, adjust, fit, and assemble parts.
Conduct testing of completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications.
Essential Skills
5+ years of tool and die making experience.
Ability to manually build and repair fixtures, tooling, and dies.
Proficiency in reading blueprints.
Experience with machining, lathes, die repair, and fixture design.
Prior experience as a machinist toolmaker.
Proficiency in using measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
Good math skills (basic arithmetic, adding/subtracting, working with fractions).

Work Environment
The shift is Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks. Candidates should be flexible to work on Saturdays or outside regular hours depending on volume needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pompano Beach, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
