JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: The Department of Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for Lecturer in Forensic Investigation. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefits eligible position with a salary range of \$41,000 - \$44,000 beginning in August 2024. Candidates should be able to teach some combination of offered courses including Survey of Forensic Sciences and either Fingerprinting or Criminalistics. The ideal candidate would be a criminalist with laboratory or field experience who could contribute to curriculum development as we apply for FEPAC accreditation. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have a demonstrated competency teaching some combination of Forensic Investigation degree core courses (e.g., Survey of Forensic Sciences, Crime Scene Documentation, Forensic Criminology, or Forensic Investigation Research Methods), as well as either Fingerprint Analysis and Other Biometrics or Criminalistics courses. The typical teaching load for a full-time lecturer is 5 courses per semester. Preference will be given to candidates with professional field and/or laboratory experience and to candidates with teaching experience. Ability to engage modern pedagogy to teach undergraduate students through a classroom settings. Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with colleagues to complete department tasks (attend meetings, reply to emails, participate in department events, etc.) and goals. What You\'ll Need to Succeed: Master\'s degree or higher in Forensic Science, Physical Science, Criminal Justice, Anthropology, Computer Science, Statistics, or other discipline relevant to the candidate\'s experience as it relates to Forensic Investigation. Strong commitment to undergraduate education in a liberal arts environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Enthusiasm for professional engagement with students in and out of the classroom. Ability to collaborate with both students and faculty in a collegial environment.
