Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Shipping Clerk role to join our growing and dynamic Logistics team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.

The successful Shipping Clerk candidate will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept that has solid growth potential, with the opportunity to create substantial shareholder value. You will be responsible for receiving, checking, and recording incoming shipments of various materials and products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand or using forklifts, or other equipment.

  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.

  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.

  • Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.

  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.

  • Receive and sign for deliveries; Unload deliveries.

  • Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise.

  • Operate equipment such as forklifts.

  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.

  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Conduct cycle counts based on systems requirements.

  • Obtain merchandise from bins or shelves.

  • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or on computer.

  • Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.

  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

  • Report discrepancies to correct buyer.

  • Report past due purchase orders to the correct buyer.

  • Other job duties as required.

    REQUIREMENTS:

     

  • HS diploma or equivalent, required

  • At least 3 years of experience in inventory, shipping and receiving or related field; knowledge of schematics, preferred.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

    ADDITIONAL PRIORITIES: 

  • Ability to take initiative by identifying problems, conceptualizing resolutions, and implementing change along with having attention to detail skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects to ensure all deadlines are met is essential.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with details and fluctuating work volumes.

  • Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.

  • Ability to monitor and assess self-performance to make improvements or take corrective action.

  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

  • Ability to speak clearly so others comprehend the delivery of the message.

  • Ability to read and explain schematics, preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs occasionally.
