Honeywell Sr. QA Engineer in Pittsford, New York

As a Senior QA Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work with a team of skilled quality engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a culture of quality, automation, and continuous improvement. Our goal is to build quality into our solutions and not just test it in at the end.

You will report directly to our QA Manager and work out of our Pittsford, NY or Framingham, MA location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the quality and reliability of our software products by implementing and maintaining the quality strategy and roadmap for the organization. You will drive test automation initiatives, evaluate and implement testing tools, and oversee the execution of test cases. Your contributions will directly enhance our software development and release processes, ultimately delivering exceptional software products to our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and maintain the quality strategy and roadmap for the organization • Define comprehensive test strategies and test plans in collaboration with development and product management teams • Drive test automation initiatives and increase test coverage through automation • Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate testing tools and frameworks • Oversee the execution of test cases, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing • Monitor and manage the test tracking process, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders • Analyze defect trends to improve software quality and identify areas for process improvement • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and enhance testing processes • Implement and measure key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of testing efforts • Assist QA Manager in the identification of risks, risk management, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successfully qualified solutions • Generate and communicate test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders

COMPENSATION

The annual base salary for this position is $106,000 - $138,000. Please note that this compensation information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business consideration.

YOU MUST HAVE

• 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance • Strong experience in software testing, test planning, test case design, and test execution

WE VALUE

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics • In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, techniques, and best practices using both black-box and white-box approaches; familiarity with functional, performance, and scalability testing. • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks, with a track record of implementing test automation strategies at the Database, API, and Presentation/UI layers • Familiarity with industry-standard QA and testing tools, such as Selenium, JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms • Strong scripting and programming skills, often with languages like Python, Java, or others, depending on the technology stack • Experience working in a CI/CD DevOps environment like Jenkins or GIT for executing automated tests • Strong problem-solving and thoughtful skills to identify root causes of defects and issues, and to optimize testing processes • A high standard of performance, attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
