Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the financial services industry. The role is based in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, United States. As a Collections Specialist, you will be expected to handle a variety of tasks related to customer credit applications and records, while also monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Contact customers to inform them of overdue bills and advise them on payment options.

• Suggest methods of payment and negotiate suitable payment plans with customers.

• Maintain customer payment records and prepare customer financial statements for banks and the state credit department.

• Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and take action to collect delinquent payments.

• Research customer payment history, account balances, and other related information to provide accurate and up-to-date records.

• Utilize skills in 'Collections - Consumer', 'Microsoft Excel', 'Collection Processes', 'Collections', 'Cash Applications' to effectively perform responsibilities.

• Handle the processing of customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency.

• Ensure the proper maintenance of accurate customer credit records.

• Resolve any customer credit inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements • Applicant must have a solid understanding of collections processes, particularly in a consumer context.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for managing and analyzing data.

• Prior experience in a collections role within the financial services industry is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with cash applications and the ability to accurately apply payments to customer accounts.

• Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality and compliance guidelines related to collections.

• Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with customers and resolving outstanding payment issues.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze customer financial situations and suggest appropriate solutions.

• Must possess strong negotiation skills for settling payment terms and arrangements.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments based on customer needs.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on available information.

• Must have a customer-focused approach and the ability to maintain professionalism during challenging situations.
