Location/Division Specific Information
This position is located in the Pittsburgh site of Thermo Fisher Scientific, part of the Customer Channels Group (CCG). Represented by our Fisher Scientific brand, we deliver choice and convenience to our customers.
How will you make an impact?
Lead team ensuring smooth Purchase Order 2 Cash cycle, resolve order integrity issues, optimize Supply Chain processes, and drive top line growth.
What will you do?
Supervise a team of Purchasing Agents responsible for supplier purchase orders required to replenish inventory in our distribution centers and product shipping direct to end customer.
Mentor, coach, and support the team to develop skill sets needed to meet company expectations and their personal career objectives.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the group and first line of defense on questions or opportunities that arise from the team.
Manage day-to-day purchase orders, ensuring accuracy from release to delivery to end customer.
Meet team’s service and turnaround expectations for all order/item maintenance requests involving Supplier Performance Analyst, Customer Service, Supplier, Sales, Distribution Operations, Transportation, Planning, Portfolio Management, and Accounts Payable.
Develop relationships with suppliers to allow for successful critical information flow vital to run business and improve customer experience.
Identify, prioritize, and lead key projects/initiatives to build continuous improvement and efficiencies in the order 2 cash cycle.
Lead team reviews, craft reports and analytics for transparency, and support in getting results.
Build transparency and exception management tools to review high risk orders and proactively find opportunities that limit the company’s exposure to excess and obsolete inventory.
Responsible for the strategic alignment of key performance metrics that hold team accountable meeting goals set by leadership.
How will you get here?
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Operations or related field.
5+ years of demonstrated ability in a Supply Chain related field with Vendor Relations experience.
No previous People Management or Supervision experience required, but is preferred.
Experience or willingness to work in high volume request environment.
Experience in Process Improvement and/or Project Management is helpful.
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical ability.
Demonstrated sense of priority and vitality.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
