Description

Product Development Project Manager WHAT WE SEEK Carnegie Learning, a leader in innovative educational content, is seeking a highly motivated and talented Project Manager. Our goal is to enhance educational effectiveness for both teachers and students by continually advancing our methodologies. In this role, you will be instrumental in the development of new products, features, and enhancements for our award-winning print and digital products, which are used by over 500,000 students nationwide in subjects such as math, world languages, and English language arts. This position primarily focuses on Project Management and coordination of Product Development initiatives. Successful candidates will have experience in managing publishing or digital content projects.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, utilizing both sprint-based and traditional waterfall methodologies Monitor progress, adapt strategies as needed, and implement adjustments to meet deliverables on time and within budget Communication and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of project activities Proactively identify risks and propose mitigation strategies by escalating concerns to program management and collaborating with project teams and vendors Utilize project management tools such as JIRA and Smartsheet appropriately to ensure efficient workflow processes and track progress effectively Guide project teams in their responsibilities, emphasizing proactive solutioning, responsiveness, and collaboration to enhance team performance and project outcomes Manage to schedules and respond to shifting priorities across and within projects to maximize business impact Support program managers in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices Perform administrative tasks related to project management, such as maintaining project files, updating databases, and managing correspondence Perform other related duties and special projects as required WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR BOOKBAG At least two (2) years' experience managing projects through the entire development lifecycle Management of projects, tasks and schedules Experience working in Educational Publishing or EdTech preferred Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team to clarify ambiguous objectives and deliver results Experience defining, describing and documenting project plans and product components Ability to plan and manage multiple projects with varying schedules Problem solver, calm under pressure and able to help steer teams to tackle challenges Demonstrate a high commitment to quality with a team-oriented and self-directed approach to work Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including in active listening, expectation setting, and consensus building Analytical and critical thinking applied to complex problems Able to use project management tools, like Smartsheet, Workfront and Jira.
