Job Description
Are you a professional ready to join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Data Science Product Manager, Analytics? This is an exceptional opportunity to work as a key member of the product management team, collaborating with commercial leaders and IT authorities to define a roadmap for the Data Science Program’s Analytics Scrum Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in accelerating revenue growth and enabling new opportunities through data science plays.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary link between the Scrum team and marketing/sales operations teams
Communicate diligently with product management and customers to ensure their wants and needs are reflected in the product backlog
Evaluate and document the current state of the business' operations, identifying areas for improvement and assessing readiness for change.
Prioritize the team-level product backlog, inheriting priorities from the parent program roadmap
Validate the completeness of product backlog items and define clear acceptance criteria
Enhance the value of the team's end product through scalable and automated opportunity assessment and performance measurement of data science insights
Represent the team in program-level product owner sync-ups to ensure alignment with the program and enterprise vision
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, marketing, statistics, data analytics or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 8 years of combined experience in data analytics, data science, digital marketing, sales operations, and software development
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a member of a Scrum team, with at least 1 year as a product owner
Excellent analytical abilities and foundational understanding of analytics and data science within an organization
Highly effective communicator with outstanding leadership skills
Ability to balance long-term vision with immediate decision-making
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative solutions
Ability to analyze situations, apply independent judgment, discretion and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and creative solutions
Self-starter with experience working within, influencing within, and networking within the political climate of a large matrixed organization
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred
Advanced Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence) knowledge preferred
Hands-on data experience (e.g. SQL, data modeling, data analysis) preferred
