Sargent Electric Accounts Payable Administrative Assistant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

We are looking to hire an ACCOUNTS PAYBLE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT reporting to our Pittsburgh, PA office.  This position includes all aspects of recording, processing, and reconciling accounts payable invoices, which is critical for the company to maintain accurate financial records.  This position reports directly to the Controller and is part time (approximately 25 hours per week) with potential to become full time.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive invoices from all departments within the company via email and USPS and enter this information into the accounts payable system for processing.

  • Review vendor statements and reconciles balances, requests copies of missing invoices, contacts vendors regarding discrepancies.

  • Review and respond to vendor payment inquiries as needed.

  • Additional office functions as directed by the Controller.

    SKILLS:

  • Ability to multi-task and to complete work assignments with interruptions by required deadlines.

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and other accounting management software (Vista/Viewpoint experience a plus).

  • Accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Must be a team player who works well with all other employees in the department and participates actively in training.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.

  • At least 1 year of equivalent accounting experience.
