As an Accounting Specialist Senior within PNC's Capital Markets Finance organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager’s discretion.
Position Overview:
The Capital Markets Finance – Broker Dealer Accounting group supports a high growth and strategic business for C&IB and PNC. This role participates in the financial close process, supports internal and external reporting, works to improve, and streamline initiatives and partners with other key stakeholders to drive PNC Capital Markets forward. PNCCM is registered as a securities broker and dealer, and we provide support to the business that offers corporate finance, investment banking and advisory services for our clients. You would be joining a team of finance professionals which includes individuals with CPAs and broker dealer licenses. PNCCM underwrites, deals, and trades in corporate securities, state and municipal obligations, and mortgage-backed securities. The Company also trades in U.S. government and agency securities, mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, commercial paper, and money market instruments. In addition, the Company acts as an agent for affiliates of PNC and others in certain securities transactions and provides corporate finance services, including arranging loan syndications for PNC customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Support the group’s scope of responsibilities including regulatory reporting, SEC reporting, corporate accounting, and funding and treasury management related requirements for the Capital Market’s broker dealer business.
• Support the organization's daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and FINRA regulatory reporting (FOCUS filings).
• Assist with daily regulatory capital monitoring and treasury management functions for the broker dealer business. Support daily funding requirements for the broker dealer business and work closely with ALM funding to communicate funding requirements based on business activities.
• Create and evaluate reports on financial performance (e.g., monthly variance analysis, quarterly Board statements, daily funding reports) for internal use.
• Interact with various levels of the organization in determining content and summarizing data for management. Key stakeholders include Bank Accounting, LOB Finance, Risk, Operations, Compliance and Legal.
• Participate in the annual year-end audit with our external auditors – preparing and reviewing financial statements and footnotes for the Annual Audited Report in accordance with US GAAP.
• Provide additional support with ad hoc research to support business activities and accounting matters and various automation and process improvement projects.
• Work as a liaison with second line of defense groups in providing support over control analysis.
Job Description

Creates accounting memoranda and various specialized reports for internal and external use.
Completes month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management and tax, and subsidiary regulatory reporting, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.
Supports and assists accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.
