U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command Supervisory Security Guard in Pine Bluff Arsenal, Arkansas

Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to Veterans preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment. If there are no Veterans preference eligible applicants available, non-preference applicants may be considered. Responsibilities Incumbent serves as a Shift Supervisor for the Security Guard force. Responsible for providing 24 hour maximum or extraordinary security measures against theft, fire, accident, pilferage, trespass, sabotage, and espionage. Responsible for performing a diverse range protective responsibilities over Federal property, employees, and visitors. Conducts daily guard mount to ensure proper accountability of all sensitive items, weapons and equipment. Responsible for ensuring the guard force understands their immediate role in protection of government and personal property, access of personnel and vehicles to the installation. Accurately and timely fills out reports on incidents of theft or accident. Support the implementation of emergency plans. Patrol restricted and limited access areas. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved 1). Protecting property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; and maintaining order, and protecting life, 2) Assisting in directing the work of an organizational unit engaged in providing protective security, 3) Ensuring subordinates understand safety, laws, regulations, and assignments, and 4) Assisting in developing training plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Access Control Operations Managing Human Resources Physical Security Security Assessment Security Documentation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education Additional Information The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution,and demilitarization of munitions. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
