GovCIO PMO Manager in Pierre, South Dakota
Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for a PMO Manager to lead a team of project managers overseeing IT infrastructure projects PMs. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of multiple infrastructure initiatives. You will act as a mentor and guide to project managers, helping to align project goals with business objectives, optimize processes, and mitigate risks. Leadership will be critical in fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT infrastructure projects on time and within budget. This position is located in the United States and is fully remote.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers overseeing IT infrastructure projects.
Provide guidance on project execution, resource allocation, and troubleshooting.
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering feedback and career development opportunities.
Project Portfolio Management:
Oversee the portfolio of IT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and priorities.
Work closely with senior leadership to define project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource needs.
Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and manage risks to ensure on-time delivery and quality outcomes.
Process Optimization and Best Practices:
Develop and implement standardized project management processes, methodologies, and tools for the team.
Ensure adherence to industry best practices for IT infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality results.
Continuously review and optimize processes to improve efficiency and project success rates.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and executives on project status, challenges, and successes.
Prepare and deliver regular project reports, including progress updates, risk assessments, and financial status.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and facilitate smooth project execution.
Risk Management:
Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges in project delivery.
Troubleshoot complex issues and provide guidance to project managers for effective problem-solving.
Resource and Budget Management:
Assist with resource planning and allocation across projects, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and personnel to meet project demands.
Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's withInformation Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field15+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
5+ years of experience in managing IT infrastructure projects.
3+ years of experience in managing or supervising a team of project managers.
Proven track record of successful IT infrastructure project delivery.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure systems, including networking, servers, storage, cloud computing, and data center operations.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Clearance Required:Must be able to obtain and maintain HUD Public Trust

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Posted Salary Range
USD $175,000.00 - USD $195,000.00 /Yr.
