Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Java Software Engineer with a focus on data persistence to join our team developing mission critical software for military tactical environments.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop database schemas with entity relationships based on system engineering data models

  • Ensure entity relationships are maintained in the database to include referential integrity

  • Generate Data transfer objects (DTOs) that are leveraged by other services to store and retrieve entities

  • Develop Spring Boot microservices that expose REST-based and message-based APIs and hide the persistence-level implementation details

  • Utilize code generation techniques to more quickly handle data model updates provided from the System Engineering Team

  • Utilize Java Persistence API (JPA) for database updates and retrievals when working with the Postgres relational database

  • Assist with cyber “hardening” of software to ensure the delivered software is secure and meets required cyber security standards

  • Work closely with your teammates to solve problems and produce high-quality software

  • Continuously challenging yourself to become a better software developer

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent work experience with demonstrable capabilities and results

  • Developed software leveraging Spring Java Framework

  • Worked with persistence technologies that are both relational and unstructured

  • Developed software leveraging Java Swing to create window, Linux, and web applications

  • Developed solutions leveraging REST and WebSocket technologies

  • Able to use modern software build tools, including Git, Jenkins and Gradle

  • ExperienceD with and are comfortable using non-Windows (Linux, Mac OS X) platforms for software development

  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Have data modeling experience

  • Worked with Postgres and/or Elasticsearch

  • Experience using Git (or a Git-based implementation, e.g. Stash, Bitbucket, GitHub) in a collaborative production environment—especially on a large-scale software project

  • Experience using Jenkins, Gradle and Maven

  • Published software projects for external consumption, or have made significant contributions to existing open-source projects

  • Experience with the Agile or Scrum development methodology

  • Experience working as part of a software development team

  • Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Bitbucket/Stash, Nexus)

  • Experience with continuous integration or build automation (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo)

Salary Range:

$104,200.00 - $182,400.00
