Role Summary/Purpose:

Come join the newly created Consumer Engagement and Brand team to lead enterprise-wide consumer marketing aimed to stimulate spend, inspire usage in more places, and drive loyalty across SYF products and relationships.

Reporting to the SVP, Consumer Engagement, the VP Enterprise Consumer Marketing leader will lead a team in developing and implementing marketing strategies that expand enterprise offers to consumers, including retargeting and cross-sell efforts to expand products in hand and cross-shop, ongoing engagement and retention efforts to drive longer-term relationships with consumers.

This is an opportunity for a customer-obsessed marketer to forge new ground in capturing more of our customers share of wallet. You have a strong marketing acumen, built from experience creating and executing high-impact marketing campaigns across the cardholder journey, being well versed in best-in-class strategies and tactics and have a keen eye on the competitive landscape. You think strategically to identify opportunities to drive growth while rallying others to get behind you. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams, key senior level stakeholders as well as other team members of the Consumer Engagement and Brand team. You have a good understanding of the credit card/loyalty market and you have an overall will to win in this space.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise-wide consumer marketing strategies that deepen customer engagement with existing products as well as build multi-product relationships within Synchrony

  • Lead consumer marketing for key SYF products and capabilities and drive longer term consumer relationships through upgrades or graduations

  • Define engagement strategy for multi-product cardholders

  • Lead micro COEs like retention and balance building efforts like APR promos and Balance Transfers to continue to deepen consumer relationships

  • Develop innovative marketing solutions through test-and-learn agenda, consumer insights, competitive intelligence, industry research and data

  • Serve as a manager of people

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 10 years of marketing experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant consumer marketing experience, preferably credit cards

  • Experience in direct to consumer marketing including paid media and other digital marketing; experience in test-and-learn planning

  • Marketing leadership skills (analytic and creative) with significant exposure to consumer facing programs/products.

  • People management experience and ability to motivate team to attain high levels of performance

  • Proven ability to partner and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and implement actionable and measurable plans to drive business results

  • Travel Less than 20%

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate situations using multiple sources of information

  • Experience building strategies for new products and new approaches, often working with a clean white sheet of paper

  • High energy, self-motivated, passionate innovator and customer advocate.

  • Experience with large-scale offer platforms

Grade/Level: 14

The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
