Job Title: Structures Mechanic

Job Description

Join us as a Structures Mechanic in an organization specializing in every aspect of aircraft maintenance. Your main responsibility will be to inspect, repair, and replace aircraft sheet metal structures such as main landing gear fittings, aircraft skins, and floor beams. This role requires proficiency in reading blueprints and determining the sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. Your day-to-day tasks will involve selecting the type of sheet metal, planning, laying out, and fabrication of sheet metal parts, and performing maintenance work such as repair and maintenance of company equipment and shop housecleaning. Additionally, you will be responsible for making appropriate entries in the Component Removal Log, completing identification tags, and repairable/parts routing tags upon removing components from aircraft.

Hard Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials

  • Proficiency in machining, and layout techniques

  • Experience with Hydraulic press brake, power shear, forming equipment, hand tools, lift equipment, stands, ladders, glass beading equipment, rivet guns, drills

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 4 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Marana, Arizona.

Work Environment

Work demands require sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods, as well as occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50lbs unassisted. The role requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, corrected vision and hearing to normal range. You will be working in a location with exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, working on unprotected heights or around moving machinery, aircraft fuel tank entry. Protective equipment such as goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, aprons, gloves, safety harnesses will be required. The work location will primarily be the B777 Cargo Conversion Program but you may be asked to work property wide.
