Supervise/direct a team of state licensing surveyors who conduct state licensing surveys and complex and/or high profile complaint investigation of Assisted Living facilities and homes, Adult health care facilities, adult foster care, and nursing-supported group homes. Coordinate and review work of subordinate staff ensuring accurate and timely completion of on-site compliance surveys and complaint investigations; provide technical assistance relating to State Licensing and the complaint investigations process to licensees and consumers of services; recommend enforcement actions; testify at formal appeals hearings, serve as a preceptor of new surveyors and provide input into their performance evaluations, review patient/resident quality of care assessment issues in licensing surveys and complaint investigations; and participate in quality assurance/process improvement activities; represent the Bureau Chief at meetings; act in absence of the Bureau Chief.
Job Duties:
- Supervise and direct a team of surveyors who conduct surveys of facilities to verify compliance with State licensing standards and ensure the health, welfare, and safety of consumers, clients, residents, and /or patients; conduct and/or oversee complex and/or high profile complaint investigations and surveys.
- Review and edit detailed investigation reports or surveys, statements of deficiencies, cease and desist orders, stipulations and other types of legal orders; ensure all forms and documents accurately completed within required time frames; recommend for or against state licensing; recommend enforcement actions, testify at hearings.\ Provide training and technical assistance to providers relating to requirements for State licensing and the complaint investigation process; serve as a resource for providers, public and other governmental agencies, ombudsmen, and health care professionals regarding State licensing.
- Participate in quality assurance/performance improvement activities.
- Represent the Bureau Chief at meetings; act in absence of Bureau Chief.
