The Site Reliability Engineering and Application Support (SRE & AS) is a mission critical organization that supports a large porting of the critical applications across Amex. As part of the SRE & AS Tools and Practices organization, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing tools used across the organization to drive higher availability and resiliency while creating efficiencies.

Role and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing and supporting software solution that will enable the broader SRE/AS organization. This would include solutions such as:

  • Automation and efficiency solutions

  • Creating solutions to close gaps in processes

  • Developing new features based on organizational needs

  • Helping to define and educate the organization on standards and best practices.

  • Increasing observability and open telemetry

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required.

  • 3 years of software development experience in a professional environment such as:

  • Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and automated testing.

  • Thorough understanding of XML, JSON, web services technologies, and data structure fundamentals, with experience in multi-threaded programming.

  • Wide breath of engineering experience as Full Stack Engineer in technologies like Java, J2EE, Spring, JavaScript, React, Python, Micro Services and more to deliver product capabilities.

  • RESTful API development experience.

  • Experience with Observability and Open Telemetry tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and ELF.

  • Experience with continuous integration/deployment (Git, Jenkins, etc).

  • Familiar with Open Source and cloud technologies.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits
