Our Connected Defense Software business unit specializes in developing advanced software solutions for defense organizations. We leverage cutting-edge technologies and industry expertise to deliver mission-critical software applications that enhance situational awareness, command and control, and decision-making capabilities. Our solutions are designed to help defense organizations achieve their operational objectives and maintain a technological advantage in a complex and dynamic defense environment.

As a Business Development Manager - Connected Defense Software here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of our defense software solutions. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through the government contracting process and budgets, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and driving revenue growth. Your core responsibilities will involve developing and executing strategic sales plans, conducting market research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions to our defense customers.

You will report directly to our General Manager of Connected Aero and you'll work out of our offices in Phoenix, Charlotte or Atlanta on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business by driving the adoption of our defense software solutions and expanding our customer base. Your work will contribute to the success of our defense business unit and help us deliver cutting-edge technology solutions to our defense customers.

The successful candidate will have experience and a proven track record in selling software solutions within the Aerospace, Defense and Industrial Manufacturing verticals. You will be driven to achieve exceptional business growth working at an enterprise level with strategic accounts. You must be both technically savvy and have a high level of business acumen to create and communicate innovative solutions that deliver quantifiable results to clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and pursue new IDIQs, GWACs, RFPs, SBIRs, and other related business opportunities in the defense sector

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including defense agencies and prime contractors

  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs and competitive landscape

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative software solutions to defense customers

  • Provide regular updates and reports on sales activities and pipeline

MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the defense industry

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth

  • Strong understanding of defense software solutions and technologies

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including C-level executives

  • Experience managing and closing complex sales-cycles and managing multiple large accounts

  • U.S. citizenship required to maintain a security clearance.

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field

  • Experience working with defense agencies and prime contractors

  • Knowledge of defense procurement processes and regulations

  • Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in the defense industry

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Extensive experience in Aerospace, Defense or Heavy Industrial Manufacturing industries with expertise in government funding sources

  • Consulting experience for software products

  • Strong business acumen and strategic analysis experience

  • Financial and international operating experience

  • Technical understanding of customer requirements

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills
