 Job Description:

Inspects machinery, equipment, and working conditions to identify occupational safety and health hazards. Develops and/or updates process & procedure improvements that will minimize the facility's safety incidents, near misses (prevention), and accidents. Monitor operations continuously to eliminate unsafe conditions and hazardous activities. Maintains accurate safety records and provides safety training. Assesses health and safety standards in the workplace. Educates and trains staff on how to follow health and safety protocols. Assesses equipment and machinery for safety. Develops safety reports and metrics for presentation to management. Perform safety observations and plant inspections using the S.afety-Reports.com App

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsibility/Duty % of Time Spent Essential Job Functions Monitors staff to ensure health and safety rules and regulations are being followed. Implements company safety standards, when necessary, to bring into compliance with OSHA federal or/and state regulations. Conducts, audits, accident investigations and completes the injury accident report. Review of operational procedures, equipment, and materials for safe operation. Ensures maintenance is compliant with SDS data sheets  25%

 Assesses equipment and machinery to determine if they are in safe & working order. Maintains programs and recordkeeping systems that track and evaluate safety-related incidents and accidents; and proposes corrective action(s). Investigates on-site accidents, prepares investigation findings, and completes safety reports.  25%

Directs accidents investigation procedures. Investigates causes of accidents to identify preventive safety measures for incorporation into the safety program. Organize and conduct OSHA and LMS training schedules. Conducts specialized training as required or needed. Inspects machines and equipment for accident prevention devices. Observes workers and evaluates job activities to determine use of prescribed safety equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats, clothing, harnesses, and other equipment. such as goggles and respirators. 30%

 Develop health and safety plans. Educate staff on health and safety protocols. Inspects specified areas for fire prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies. Conducts inspections for environmental concerns. 15%

 Maintain a clean work environment. 5 %

Qualifications and Skills:

 • Leadership skills, such as the ability to provide feedback

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation

• Experience with PowerPoint, Excel and auditor safety

• Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers

• Understanding of how to read blueprints

Experience & Education:

• Associates in Industrial Technology preferred or equivalent in pertinent health and safety experience

• OSHA certified CPR/First Aid certified

• Registration as a Certified Safety Professional or similar form of licensure as a safety officer
