Reference #: 22208407 Key Areas of Responsibility Ensure accuracy of all sections of Multiple Data Set ( MDS ) coding to maximize company reimbursement consistent with the levels of treatment delivered and required for appropriate patient / resident care ( CMI ). Ensure  accuracy of clinical paperwork (assessment and accompanying documentation) to maximize company reimbursement consistent with the levels of treatment delivered and required for appropriate patient / resident care. Updates Medicare sheet every morning. Completes short and long-term MDS. Insurance updates. Look through hospital records for all new admissions. Must be certified with AAPACN (American Association of Post Acute Care Nursing) with more than 3 years of experience. Must know how to obtain a CMI (Case Mix Index) measures. Care plan proficient and provide care plan education to the nursing team including skilled notes CNA documentation. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Case management w/ managed care (maximize therapy and nursing services provided to residents in order to maximize patient-centered outcomes) This position manages clinical and financial record keeping and dissemination of these records to appropriate payors. This includes overseeing UMR reviews and any appeals processes. Take joint ownership of care conferences with social workers. Reporting structure Reports directly to DoN Surrogate for DoN in managing Nurse Managers Skills required Knowledge / SME coding (ICD-10) Constantly questions / Attention to detail Revisiting assessments to ensure accuracy Pursuit of getting it exactly right Constantly question / validate information Certification required RN not required but highly desired AANAC certification (desired, must have within 12 months of employment)
