Nammo Defense Systems, Inc Supplier Quality Engineer in Perry, Florida
JOB SUMMARY: The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for investigating, analyzing and resolving supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects. Additionally, responsible for working with the business development and operational teams to qualify and/or certify materials for current and future contracts. This position requires up to 50% travel, including international locations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule
Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s
Establish specific short / long term supplier quality goals
Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances
Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
Develop long‐term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas
Evaluate and qualify new supplier materials
Communicate engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teams
Actively manage suppliers to ensure there are no performance regressions
Travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems
Maintain adherence to Company policies and procedures, safety and environmental standards, and good housekeeping practices
Maintain good employee relations, and adherence to Affirmative Action Plan, Labor Laws, and EEO rules and regulations
Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
B.S. degree and at least 5 years’ experience in the Quality and/or Manufacturing functional areas
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including international locations
Good interpersonal skills
Safety conscious
Ability to follow instructions
Flexible, ability to handle a wide variety of duties and multi-task while prioritizing in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
Strong administrative, communication (oral and written), and organization skills
Detail and result oriented with decision making skills with the ability to recognize/support the organization’s preference and priorities
Preferred ISO AS/QS/TS auditing experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must submit to and pass random drug tests
Must have good vision (may be corrected)
Must have good hearing (may be corrected)
Must be able to communicate orally and written
Must be able to sit, stand, and walk and for prolonged periods of time (including for travel purposes)
Must have the stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed including evenings and weekends (including for travel purposes)
