POSITION SUMMARY

Assist attorneys in multiple facets of commercial litigation including creditors rights, foreclosures, bankruptcies, real property litigation, collections, evictions, land use, formation of corporations/LLC and probate.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • College degree or paralegal certificate preferred, but not required
  • 1+ years commercial real estate litigation experience preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The individual must have a working legal knowledge in the area of commercial real property litigation. Comprehension of legal matters, the ability to review documents in detail and the ability to implement complex written and verbal instructions. Familiarity with different types of corporate entities, formation, and establishment of corporate authority/signor documentation. Familiarity with the real estate closing process, both commercial and residential. Familiarity with Florida and Federal rules of civil procedure. Ability to work with little or no supervision, using effective interpersonal, cooperative and communication skills. Task oriented with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to research detailed information using texts, internet, personal contacts, and other data sources. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications. Must have excellent written and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafting outlines of various Pleadings, Discovery Requests and Discovery Responses, and associated correspondence
  • Large document control including review, Bates labeling, and indexing
  • Online research of court records and official records
  • Research and analyze statutes and case law
  • Calendaring and deadline computation and tickle system
  • Assist with trial preparation and exhibit control
  • Work closely with clients and opposing counsel
  • Schedule hearings, mediations, and depositions
  • Electronically file documents with the court
  • Manage assigned case load
  • Dictation
  • Other duties as assigned

PAY| $20.00 - $25.00/hr

SCHEDULE| Regular Business hours, Monday-Friday

REQUIREMENTS| Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
