JBT Corporation Test Supervisor in Pennsylvania, United States

Overview ... We are seeking a supervisor to manage the Test department’s operations for our Chalfont, Pennsylvania facility. The Test department is responsible for the debug, setup, and testing of automated guided vehicles (AGVs). This position collaborates with other departments to implement and test new product hardware/software solutions and process improvements. This role is an integral part of JBT’s interdepartmental coordination to deliver a quality product capable of making the future of material handling our tomorrow. The Opportunity ... ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Supervise onsite department operations with a focus on maintaining throughput. Work with project engineers and managers to develop Test Plans for customer automated guided vehicle projects. Manage test floor environment with a focus on safety, organization, and collaboration. Troubleshoot automated vehicle software and coordinate with multiple departments to resolve quality issues. Document problems in AGV build process in Jira for root cause analysis and resolution. Assist with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic debug of vehicles and automation kits as needed. Debug and add Test functionality to AGV application software code for customer projects in the areas of vehicle sequencing, safety systems, and hardware configuration. Validate product functionality and testing meets internal quality standards, ANSI/ISO code requirements, and customer project application. Coordinate execution of customer acceptance tests in the Chalfont facility. Collaborate with the Test Manager and other Test Supervisor(s) to synchronize processes across facilities and execute trainings for team members. Ensure all documentation and product testing is completed prior to vehicle shipment. Conduct performance assessments of team members and set SMART goals for internal development. Coordinate and implement continuous improvement projects. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Yes QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT Education Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (B.S.E.T) in an Engineering discipline required. Examples include: Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or other equivalent. Required Work Experience 2+ years of relevant experience working with electromechanical systems in a production, test, or automation environment. Strong communications ability and organizational skills are required. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics and drawings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 software. Basic electro-mechanical assembly ability and use of hand tools required. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Valid driver’s license and passport. Ability to travel, domestic and international, up to 25%. Related Work Experience Experience working with automated guided vehicles is highly preferable. ISO 9001 or related quality system experience is advantageous. Prior management experience or experience leading a team is preferred. Software configuration and development experience. Exposure to scripting languages such as C++, Visual Basic, or Python. Working knowledge of revision control software, especially Git.
