THE POSITION

Are you a motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? The Department of General Services is looking to fill a position as a print production technician. This position's primary responsibility is to perform complex time-sensitive and data-sensitive work in a mail production environment that involves the operation of high-speed, high-volume mail equipment as well as the delivery, shipping, and receiving of materials and supplies. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Within this role, you will be responsible for operating high-speed, production-level printers and inserters to produce a variety of forms, including letters, manuals, brochures, posters, marketing materials, and envelopes. The print production technician is responsible for the setup and operation of various high speed digital printers, reviewing job specifications, preparing, programming, and releasing jobs from print queue. Additional duties include quality assurance inspections, hand-related bindery tasks, entering print production activities into the Bureau's print management system, and ensuring all work is completed within scheduled deadlines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (with lunch from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm) - Monday through Friday 11:00 PM to 07:00 AM (with lunch from 3:00 am to 3:30 am) - Sunday through Thursday

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Print Production Operator; or

  • One year of experience in the operation of print or mail insertion equipment or similar machinery used in a print or mail production facility; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
