THE POSITION

The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs, Delaware Valley Veterans' Home, is seeking full-time nurse aides for all shifts. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Our enthusiastic and dedicated nursing staff provides 24-hour care, seven days per week. From helping our residents prepare for their day to assisting them with participating in exciting activities, you will play a huge role in their wellbeing. Through this day-to-day contact with our residents, you will have the ability to positively impact their quality of life by providing the best possible care.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment; 8 hours per day; 80 hours biweekly

  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2: 30 PM, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Rotating days and weekends.

  • Overtime: As needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry;or

  • Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

Special Requirement:

  • This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Preferred Qualification:

  • Ability to work one of the following shifts:

  • 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM); rotating days and weekends.

  • 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM); rotating days and weekends.

  • 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM); rotating days and weekends.

    Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.

  • A conditional offer of employment may require satisfactory completion of a medical examination .

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
