Production Manager / CI

About the Role

The Production Manager / CI manages and coordinates activities concerned with the production of the company products. The American Almond location specializes in the processing and manufacturing of tree nut p roducts. The Sr. Production Supervisor has a strong commitment to food and employee safety, ensures compliance for the production department and in the application of his/her daily routine.

Key responsibilities include:

● Direct and manage plant operations production and shipping.

● Direct reports 2nd and 3rd shift Production Supervisors.

● Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered. Ensures products meet customer specification. Coordinates activities of shipping and receiving.

● Coordinates production activities with all other company functions to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machinery, and equipment.

● Compiles reviews and analyzes production, operational reports and dates to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.

● Consults with engineering and maintenance relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products. Revises production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.

● Collaborates with the Site Manager in the development of work instructions and training plans.

● Consults with management, employees and Human Resources to resolve or effect settlement of employee concerns. Adherence to all respective legislation and company policies.

● Manages the activities of the purchaser to ensure inventory of raw ingredients necessary to meet production processes and the provision of goods and services to all other company functions.

● Develops and revises Operational Procedures and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Promotes and develops the leadership skills of the team.

● E stablishes continuous improvement strategies and processes to reduce waste, cycle time and hours utilization.

● Implement and monitor food and safety programs for the production department. Meeting all regulatory requirements for both.

● Works within all regulatory requirements

● Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements

● Prepare relevant reports and statistics to be shared with management and teams..

● Leads by example. Displays positive attitude and works to support Continuous Improvement and Production goals.

● Control and manage corporate improvement tool such as Team boards, 5S, 8 Step and problem solving technics.

● Collaborate with HR on Safety Skills training, disciplinary guidance.

A bout you:

● Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering; including Six Sigma experience

● 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing methods, process improvement program and procedures ● Proficiency with Excel, Word, SAP.

● Diversified background with strong technical, business and managerial skills.

● Fluent in Spanish strongly preferred.

● Continuous Improvement.

● 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma.

● Demonstrated ability to work in high paced and changing environments
