Test Facilities Mechanical Engineering (TFME) is a team of Mechanical and Structural Engineers whose mission is to provide engineering services for the design and build-up of test infrastructure and enabling systems. Test sites supported include all development engine and component test cells in Evendale, Peebles, and Winnipeg. TFME also has engineering responsibility for production and services engine test cells around the world.
The Mechanical Engineer will focus on leading the design and execution of projects contributing to the technical development and/or improvement of existing infrastructure products and components.
Roles and Responsibilities
Define and document project objectives, requirements, and assumptions necessary to plan and execute capital projects focused on the modification or expansion of existing industrial processes.
Develop engineering solutions that design, diagnosis, or troubleshoot new/existing piping systems (hot & ambient), hydraulic systems, fuel systems, lube systems & compressed air systems.
Perform process engineering calculations such as: mass and energy balances, equipment sizing and specification, line sizing, safety device sizing, and material selection and compatibility.
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Engage with plant operators, controls specialists, maintenance teams, and engineering to troubleshoot process upsets.
Oversee installation and execution of assigned projects through continual engagement with engineering, operations, internal trades, and contractors.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 7 years' experience in design engineering

Desired Characteristics:
7-10 years experience as Mechanical or Process Engineer
MS degree in engineering from an accredited university
Relevant experience with industrial systems, such as: dryers, heaters, heat exchangers, pumps, and air handlers/turbomachinery.
Familiarity with plant, machine, process (PFD/P&ID) drawings.
Experience with plant process optimization, such as statistical process control, process hazard analysis, or developing functional specifications
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
