Actalent QC Technician in Paterson, New Jersey

Job Title: QC TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented QC Technician to join our team. The primary responsibilities include line auditing for the production of bread, environmental monitoring, air sampling, and participation in monthly SQF audits. You will calibrate and verify scales, monitors, and other basic instrumentation, utilize MS Excel, Word, and Office for documentation practices, and ensure product quality throughout the manufacturing process by following GMP guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct line auditing for bread production.

  • Perform environmental monitoring and air sampling.

  • Participate in monthly SQF audits.

  • Calibrate and verify scales, monitors, and other basic instrumentation.

  • Utilize MS Excel, Word, and Office for basic documentation practices.

  • Monitor and verify product quality throughout the manufacturing process following GMP guidelines.

  • Perform visual inspections, monitor product weights, codes, labeling, and other quality checks.

  • Address Food Safety issues and customer complaints with the assistance of QA Supervisors.

  • Complete other periodic tasks as needed on a week-to-week basis.

Essential Skills

  • Quality control experience within the Food and Beverage industry.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt to rapid changes in a Bread Production facility.

  • High School Diploma.

  • Knowledge of Food Safety practices including SQF, FSMA, or HACCP.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Passion for the food industry and a desire to grow in the field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • HACCP or SQF Certification (nice to have).

  • Bilingual capabilities.

  • Experience with GMP environments.

  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring and air sampling.

Work Environment

You will work in a Bread Production facility, spending a significant amount of time on the manufacturing floor every day. The role involves working in a GMP environment and requires adherence to safety and quality guidelines. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow your expertise from leaders with over 20 years of combined experience in training technicians. The company imports and exports with European countries and distributes 300-500 items outside of their three buildings in Paterson, in addition to in-house manufacturing.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
