Description
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team located in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. In this role, you will be required to manage various accounting responsibilities in a retail environment. You will be tasked with maintaining accuracy in customer accounts, resolving inquiries, and processing applications for domestic and global accounting. There is some flexibility for hybrid days. Responsibilities:
Prepare and post regular journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Perform in-depth analysis of P& L Statements to identify financial position and assess the company's profitability.
Responsible for approving invoices, ensuring its accuracy and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Assist in the calculation of rent, track payments, and manage related reporting.
Monitor internal controls, identify any inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
Responsible for maintaining the trial balance by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Manage and maintain cash balances, performing regular audits to ensure accuracy.
Assist in monthly closing activities, preparing financial statements and reports.
Coordinate with international affiliates, understanding foreign currency fluctuations and applying respective accounting treatments if required.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Masters, MBA or CPA ae a huge plus
GAAP and IFRS experience
Experience with General Ledger management is required
2+ years of experience
Experience with Month End Close procedures is needed
High proficiency in Excel
Proactive, go getter, strong communication skills
SAP usage skills are preferred
