Description
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for our organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and providing excellent service to our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll accurately and timely for all employees using payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex).
Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity.
Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and changes are reflected in payroll processing.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed.
Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 and 1099 preparation.
Support finance team with other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience; additional education or certification in payroll processing preferred.
Proven experience as a payroll clerk or similar role, preferably in a nonprofit or similar organization.
Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
